The University Secretary

 

The University Secretary is the officer of the Board of Governors responsible for coordinating and facilitating the activities of the Board and its various committees.  The University Secretary works closely with the Chair of the Board, the President, senior administrators and committee Chairs to provide advice and guidance on governance, strategies, process and the development and promulgation of university policies and procedures.  A member of the President’s Executive Team, the University Secretary reports to the President and receives direction from the Chair of the Board of Governors. 

 

The University Secretary serves as the Information and Privacy Coordinator, manages the University’s compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protections of Privacy Act and oversees the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices relating to information access and privacy protection.

 

The University Secretary also supervises and manages the Records Officer and is responsible for the development and implementation of a records and information management program and related procedures for the administrative records of the University.
